How to Talk to Girls Online

When you want to talk to a girl online, how do you start a conversation or, what do you even talk about with her?

Starting an online conversation with a girl should be easy, right? You just type something in a box and then hit the send button. That’s all it takes. It’s a no-brainer if you think about it.

But, no matter how deceptively simple chatting online seems, if you want to get something out of your online conversation, whether it’s in a game, forum, dating website, or texting, you have to show her that you are a bit interesting and fun.

With instant messaging, Facebook, and emails, you get a variety of choices on how you can start chatting with girls online.

The way you use them may differ from each other, but the message you send a girl should contain the same flare and intrigue if you want to impress the girl you like.

Why talking to girls online can be easier

If you’re a generally good conversationalist in face-to-face situations, you shouldn’t have much of a problem talking to girls online.

After all, online is just another means of communicating with another human being.

But then again, talking to girls online has its own advantages.

One is you can insert long pauses between messages and come back to it like nothing happened. This is fairly evident in online communication and text messages which you can’t do in person or on a phone call.

And… you can use that time to think of an excellent message to send.

You can edit and re-edit your message until it’s good enough and contains what you really want to say in a clear and concise way. Then you can review it and read it out loud before sending it to the girl you’re talking to.

So you avoid sending the wrong message or making a mistake and creating some kind of misunderstanding.

Then there are those emoticons you can use to accentuate your messages if used properly.

These are cheap replacements for your emotions since you can’t express your emotions freely in text and will not experience them. But you shouldn’t overuse or rely on these emoticons all the time.

Starting a conversation online

Depending on where you’re chatting with her, sending a simple message to let her know you want to talk works fine. Send her a question or a greeting.

However, if you want a good start to an online conversation with a girl, you can use a unique “opener” to make sure you stand out.

If you want the conversation to get off the ground, you have to get her attention with your message.

So instead of using the overused hi or hey, think of something that’s a little more memorable like, “What’s up wonderful?”

I’m sure you can come up with something better, too.

How about this: “You’re cute, it’s too bad you’re one of those ___”

I think she’ll like that one.

And depending on what you fill those blanks with, you’ll likely get into a conversation with a girl easily.

How to find the right words to say

I’ll tell you a secret: If you want to get her attention, it’s important that you say something unique. Not something generic or overused.

While most guys don’t put the effort into their messages, you’ll be a different experience for her since you make her feel something: surprised, excited, or insulted.

I suggest you write several openers and try them out with different girls to find out which one works better.

You can try being awkward, funny, confident, edgy, or even confusing.

What’s important is that you stand out. Don’t just say something that immediately comes to your mind.

If she doesn’t respond, relax. Don’t chase her. There are more than enough women out there.

Keep her interested in chatting with you

Once you get an online conversation started, you want to keep it going.

Remain positive and outgoing if you want her to continue talking to you.

Remember: Girls are attracted to happy men.

If you want to get to know her, ask questions about her but leave the heavy stuff for later when you get the chance to meet her.

Open-ended questions about her hobbies and interests will keep the lines open and the conversation interesting.

If you’ve read her profile, you can tease her and talk about the stuff written there. Like, “I like that one too!” or “Really? You like that one?”

Tease her!

Talking to a girl online is great for you to start some lighthearted teasing. You can send her something like, “Too bad you’re not here right now!”

This also makes responding to your messages easy as it makes you less threatening. (If you need some help with your flirting, check out the F Formula!)

Also, use good grammar and keep your messages short.

And unless you want to make her your online buddy, remember why you’re talking to her in the first place. Remember the rules of texting applies here, too.

Don’t keep chatting with her online if she’s ready to meet you. Get her number and ask her out.

These are only some of the things you can do if you want to know how to talk to girls online. And being able to quickly and effectively start a conversation with a woman online is a critical skill in the online dating scene.

Learn from your mistakes: Take note of what works and what flops, and who’s responding to what you’re typing.

Just remember to have fun and let your personality show with each message you send.
